Meet The Streit Family
Dillon and Michelle Streit grew up just minutes away from the Barrington area. Michelle’s grandparents and great-grandparents established roots in the Barrington area dating back to 1957. When it came time for Dillon and Michelle to find their landing spot, they knew exactly where they wanted to be. Since 2004, Dillon and Michelle have called Barrington home. Dillon owns All Marine Motorsports in Cary, and Michelle works as an administrator at Crystal Lake Central High School, both a short distance from home. With their joint passion for water sports, together they created the Barrington Boat Club, which allows community members the opportunity to enjoy boating without the costs and hassles of boat ownership. Michelle also belongs to the Barrington Junior Women’s Club, which is a group of women who organize fun events to provide community outreach. Their three children, Maxden (12), Malayna (11), and Maven (7), enjoy participating in and contributing to the community.
All three children are in the Chinese Immersion program – a specialty program only offered in 264 schools nation-wide that allows them to learn to read, write, and speak fluently in Mandarin. The emphasis on cultural awareness and appreciation is one of the many incredible reasons to love Barrington. With each child currently in a different school within the district, they can say with confidence that the school district is top-notch.
Outside of work and school, the Streit family can be found watching either a BASA soccer game, EPIC cheer competition, Broncos wrestling match, or a BYBS baseball game. When it’s time to focus on fitness, you’ll find CrossFit Barrington at the top of their list.
When it’s time to relax and enjoy some quality time together, boating on the Fox River is their favorite pastime. Additionally, they love all of the dining options available from Region, including gourmet food and drinks to Shakou with comfortable rooftop seating; Mago is a must for Mexican cuisine, and Wok 'n' Fire or Pla8 is well-known for their delicious Asian options. Further still, Remembering Charlotte’s is their top choice for thin-crust pizza, Hampton Social is the place to be for fun drinks and gatherings, and One Life Kitchen is a delight with cooking classes or hosting a fun event. It’s safe to say that the entire Streit family greatly enjoys bonding and deepening their family time over a scrumptious and delectable meal.
Barrington has something to offer everyone: boating, shopping, dining, horseback riding, attending polo matches, participating in athletics, walking various trails, and so much more! The quaint downtown area is wonderful to walk around while shopping locally, and South Barrington’s Arboretum is great for even more shopping and dining with larger retailers.
Barrington is a big town with a small-town community feel, and the Streit family feels truly blessed to call Barrington their home.
