Our Furry Friends

Pet-Friendly Lincoln

“Pet-friendly Lincoln” is a common theme among many of our local businesses and gathering places. Between hotels, apartments, restaurants, breweries, parks and shopping spots, the Lincoln community appreciates the opportunity to share experiences with our pets.

According to Brad Holmes, lifelong Lincoln resident and owner of Lincoln Budokan Dojo, “Pets are an extension of the family. Life is better with the companionship of a pet.” We know Brad is not alone in that sentiment – the resources available to pet owners in Lincoln demonstrate the point.

One of the most vital resources for pet owners in Lincoln is the Capital Humane Society, which has served the Lincoln community since 1906. Pet adoption is one of the most frequently utilized services through the Capital Humane Society. The Pieloch Pet Adoption Center, at 6500 S. 70th St., handles all pet adoption services in addition to spay and neuter services, dog training, and end-of-life services. Information about all of the services can be found here: capitalhumanesociety.org.

Outdoor dog parks are busy year-round and offer abundant space for dogs of all sizes to run and play safely. All Lincoln city parks including dog parks are listed here: lincoln.ne.gov/CITY/parks/parksfacilities/dogruns.
