Favorite Local Breweries in Sacramento

Alaro Craft Brewery
2004 Capitol Ave., Sacramento | @alarobrewing
In 2018 Alaro took over the space that used to house Rubicon Brewing, and they continue to produce great brews and food out of that location. Check out their English-style IPA, Castillo IPA, which took the gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival its opening year.

At Ease Brewing Co.
1825 I St., Sacramento | @ateasebrewingco
This brewery was founded by retired Army Colonel Mike Conrad, who has been homebrewing award-winning beers for years. Colonel Conrad completed the highly-recognized Professional Brewers Certificate Program at UC Davis. Try the light yet flavorful PFC Pils on a hot Sacramento day.

Big Stump Brewing
1716 L St., Sacramento | @bigstumpbrewco
In operation since 2016, Big Stump has over 15 beers on tap, with nearly half usually consisting of sour ales. If you are new to sour ales, then check out A Peach I Caught, coming at 5.8%, which is bright and tart with a nice mild peach taste.

Bike Dog Brewing Co.
915 Broadway, Suite 200, Sacramento | @bikedogbrewing
In 2013, four friends turned their shared passion for bikes, dogs and brewing into a brewery in West Sacramento, then expanded to a second location on Broadway. If you are looking for a "hop candy pale ale" then try their Mosaic Pale Ale.

Device Brewing Co.
1610 R St., Suite 145, Sacramento | @devicebrewing
7484 Rush River Drive, Suite 650, Sacramento
8166 14th Ave., Suite A, Sacramento
Owner Ken Anthony has three locations in Sacramento that all serve year-round brews that include a pilsner, hazy IPAs, and a West Coast IPA. If you see the award-winning Russian Imperial Stout Brits In Moscow on tap, you must try it. It comes in at 9.5% ABV with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, molasses and caramel.

New Glory Craft Brewery
8251 Alpine Ave., Sacramento | @newglorybrewery
Opened in 2013 by Julien Lux, this brewery is known for its variety of IPAs and the appropriately-named Gummy Worms Pale Ale, but don't be shy to try their other styles. If you see a Saison, Gose, or Porter on tap, don't miss it.

New Helvetia Brewing Co.
1730 Broadway, Sacramento | @newhelvetiabrew
Led by co-founder David Gull and established in 2012, New Helvetia Brewing Co. is our only brewery in Sacramento with three medals at the world-known Great American Beer Festival, including gold medals for their Thurston Adambier and Mystery Airship Imperial Chocolate Porter. Year-round, they serve two beers you can't miss: Molly American Red Ale and Buffalo Craft Lager.

Oak Park Brewing Co.
3514 Broadway, Sacramento | @opbrewco
Brewed by the founder of Track 7, Geoff Scott, alongside Oak Park resident Rodg Little, OPBC is a must-try brewery. Recently, they collaborated with the estate of Tupac Shakur to brew Holla If Ya Hear Me lager, which was brewed to Tupac's preferred style of beer.

Track 7 Brewing Co.
5090 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento | @track7brewing
3747 W Pacific Ave. F, Sacramento
826 Professor Lane, Suite 100, Sacramento
Opened in 2011, Track 7 arguably pumped life back into the Sacramento craft beer scene. A year after opening, they brewed their first IPA, Panic, which put them on the map when it won Best of Show in the 2014 California State Fair and has gone on to win four medals since. Another must-try is their Nukin' Futz, which is an imperial peanut butter chocolate cream porter.

Urban Roots Brewing
1322 V St., Sacramento | @urbanrootsbeer
In 2018, Peter Hoey and Rob Archie shook the Sacramento beer scene by opening Urban Roots Brewing and Smokehouse. Hoey brewed at Sacramento Brewing Co. and won Great American Beer Festival medals. Archie is the founder of the famed Panaea Bief Cafe. In 2021 they won the Brewery of the Year award at the Annual California Craft Brewers Cup while winning four medals.
