Kennebunkport Shore Roads -Hands down the best is Ocean Rd. in Kennebunkport
Ogunquit Marginal Way is a treat for running when it’s not too crowded.

Portsmouth-The Urban Forestry Center Trails – Easy 2 miles long for running and walking, the route brings you out to the salt marsh and back with beautiful views, birds, flowers, and the tree species are labeled!
NH Beach Running
Hampton Beach, along with Seabrook Beach directly to the south are two of the best.
Seabrook and Salisbury Beach, straddling the MA/NH border, totaling some 5 miles.
Coastal Road. There’s also some nice ocean-side road running, heading north from Hampton Beach to Odiorne Point State Park, 12.5 miles one-way, following Rt. 1A/Ocean Ave. There’s a sidewalk or decent shoulder most of the way and other beaches that are good for running.
Odiorne State Park - some scenic trails. It’s 1.2 miles from end-to-end, and overall, 2-3 miles of trails.
Newcastle Loop- 2.5 miles around Newcastle, following 1B, with some sections near the water. Follow 1B off the southern side of Newcastle.
Other Running Trails
Stratham NH Perimeter Trail- This is a great loop in Stratham Hill Park. There are many interior trails to extend the length of this route. This main Perimeter Trail has four major climbs (Jewel Hill, Long Hill, and Stratham Hill with two climbs) and comes in at 4.6 miles. Run this in either direction! Blazes are yellow paint on multiple trees at approximately eye level. 4.7 miles
Other trails in Stratham Hill Park are Dead Fish, Fire Pit Trail, and the Stratham Hill Park Loop
Family-Friendly Hikes on the Seacoast
Epping Burley Farms- 238 acres of fields, forests, and wetlands, running along both sides of North River Road; 40-acre beaver pond, wildlife, including a great blue heron rookery. Dogs are allowed, please bring a leash.
South Berwick, Maine-Raymond and Simone Savage Wildlife Preserve 26 acres on the Salmon Falls River in South Berwick; woods, fields, tidal and freshwater frontage and a very diverse habitat. No dogs allowed.
South Berwick, Maine Hamilton House at Vaughan Woods State Park –, 160-acre park several trails mixed-growth forest with wildflowers, birds, and other wildlife, daily entrance fee, dogs on leash ok.
Barrington, NH Stonehouse Pond –15-acre pond for fly fishing, rock climbing and hiking, canoeing, and kayaking. The view from atop the cliff is one of the finest.
York Maine Wiggly Bridge World’s smallest suspension bridge?? Leads to a small wooded area for a 10-minute stroll through the forest (Steedman Woods). Dogs are allowed on leash.
