Meet the Pfinsgraff family! Marty, Sarah and Poppy (now 3.5 years) moved to Farmington a little over two years ago and have since welcomed two additions to their family, Quinn (2 years) and Cal (8 months).
Sarah says, “The families on our block were so welcoming!”
They were originally attracted to their Farmington neighborhood because of the family orientation and connection to nature.
Before moving to Farmington, Sarah and Marty most recently spent four years in Toronto and previously eight years in New York City. Sarah is originally from Palm Harbor, Florida and attended Florida State University. Now she is the owner and an instructor at barre3 in Canton. And yes, if you’d like to visit Sarah says she would be happy to provide first-timers with a free class!!
As for Marty, he is originally from Basking Ridge, NJ and attended Bucknell University. He works at Travelers, in their Business Insurance group, where he has worked for the past 16 years.
Prior to having children Sarah and Marty enjoyed traveling and trying new restaurants. Now that travel is more challenging with three young children, they look forward to their annual trip to Gasparilla Island, FL
at Christmas and trying a new summer destination each year (preferably driving distance). Locally they enjoy all the area has to offer – local farms, hikes and Winding Trails in Farmington. A couple of their favorite restaurants include the North House and Marketplace (both in Avon and both kid-friendly).
In their free time, they enjoy hosting friends and family for barbecues in their backyard, made complete by a trip to Avon Prime Meats and some country music. This year Marty and Sarah got Poppy and Quinn up on skis and they look forward to future ski trips as a family out to Colorado, where they got married. Poppy currently attends Avon Nursery School and looks forward to her weekly gymnastics class at Farmington Valley Gymnastics.
While Connecticut is new to the Pfinsgraffs, they are quickly calling it home.
